John Prince

John Prince has been serving on SWAP’s Board since 2004.
As an award-winning neighborhood advocate and community organizer, Prince was troubled by the lack of safe affordable housing.
“I’d seen too many of my people struggling and many lost their homes. When Marilyn Carlson from SWAP recruited me to help, I said yes right- away and I’ve been there ever since,” Prince said.
Today, Prince says it is only “by the Grace of the Creator” that some families are able to hold onto their homes, while others can’t afford to own or even rent.
Prince is proud of the SWAP team and the work it is doing in the community. To date SWAP has invested $200 million in building new or renovating old homes for rent or sale. “Carla (DeStefano) and Marilyn (Carlson) are exceptional leaders in the community and every day we work to make a difference.”
