Dorys Breton
SWAP's Office Administrator

Since its inception 50 years ago, SWAP has been fortunate to count among its employees those who are part of our surrounding community. Among them is Dorys Breton, a resident of South Providence for 31 years and a SWAP employee for 20years. She is currently the Office Administrator and part of SWAP’s client services team.
When she first started SWAP, she says the housing situation was not like it is today. “Back then, the wait list was much shorter than it is presently. As time progresses, more people are in desperate need of housing.“
Dorys says SWAP’s work over the past 50years has been extraordinary, impacting the lives of hundreds of residents.“The difference that SWAP has made in and around this neighborhood has been incredible. They’ve taken many abandoned and rundown homes and brought life back to them.”
But even with that progress, Rhode Island still finds itself in a housing crisis. Community housing development organizations - like SWAP - are crucial in finding and implementing solutions to the problem.
“SWAP does an excellent job developing much-needed affordable housing. Despite all the hurdles and red tape, SWAP always finds a way to get it done,” Breton says.
