SWAP supports several community based programs focused on the neighborhoods we work. They include:

 

For first time home buyers to learn what it takes to buy a home. Sessions include in depth review of credit history and measures to resolve any issues that may affect buying a home; landlord training for those looking to purchase a multi family home as well as many other topics. Classes are held regularly throughout the year. A small fee is charged.

 

For prospective applicants and current residents of SWAP residential apartments. Sessions include budgeting assistance and conflict resolution techniques as well as many other topical issues for residents in rental apartments. Sessions are scheduled throughout the year.

 

For neighborhood and minority contractors seeking assistance in expanding and improving their contracting businesses. Sessions include blue print reading, project estimating as well as general business finance and marketing. Attendance is required at all nine sessions. Program is held once a year in the late fall. Pre–registration is required.

 

SWAP supports multiple programs and activities for both youth and adults in the neighborhood. Among them are:

  • Community Safety Initiative

  • After School Tutoring

  • Summer Youth Employment

  • Summer Youth Activities

  • Friendship Flower Boxes

And many others.
